About 5 years old is when I first remember making something to sell. It was sea shell dolls. The shell was the doll's head and the pretty doll dress was made by twisting tissue around the base. I had three flat sea shells (one small and two larger shells), so three dolls is what I made and set up shop!
My shop was two chairs at the end of our dirt driveway. One chair was for display and the other chair was for sitting. There was little, well more like no traffic, in my neighborhood so I sat and waited until at last a sweet lady walked past my road side stand and bought the one small doll that I had in stock. She gave me a penny. With two large size dolls remaining, I anticipated my next big sell. I sat and waited. Sat and waited some more, when finally that same sweet lady passed by again and was delighted that I had two large tissue dolls available for purchase because that was just what she wanted. She gave me two!! pennies... for each doll! I had five pennies but no inventory, so I took both chairs back to the house and closed up shop. That was a long time ago ...
Now I call Nashville, TN home and personally design, cut and sew each pillow that I have listed with lots of love. Also I enjoy setting up shop at local craft shows reminiscent of my first fun little "road side" stand.
I am honored and appreciative that you have chosen to stop by. Come often! Make yourself at home! Enjoy the visit! Oh and y'all, tell your friends about your awesome find!
